amelia// this week you were dead set on breaking a world record of some sort. you weren’t sure what one, but we had to google a bunch of records for you to decide on one. you did some impressive finger knitting with yarn I got you, so you thought you may make the longest finger knitting ever.
chase// you stayed home from school for three days this week because you weren’t feeling well. grant, clara and I enjoyed the extra chasey-boy time. Two cute things I overheard you say this week….when asked if you would like cereal you said “that would be delightful” and I overheard you telling Grant “Good job, my boy” when he did something you were proud of.
grant// your dramatic nature was evident this week when I made you go to bed before you were ready to. I heard you sobbing in your bed that “no one likes me. not even my mama likes me”. We went to visit Aunt Cheri’s sheep this week and you asked me “do daddy sheep eat kids?”
clara// you turned ONE this week! Where did the time go? You learned to climb stairs (but not to go down them!) and now want to try to get to the staircase whenever you can. You also love your brothers and sister to chase you. We can tell you are a spunky one already!
amelia// you are climbing trees as high as you can go, and spinning in the spring air, and living life to it’s fullest. you are reading all day in the sunshine, and being the leader of all games. you are IN CHARGE, and you are brave and imagination and gusto.
chase// you are theatrical performances and long winded stories. you are introverted and outgoing wrapped into one. you are sweet and loving, and adventures on your own. you are nonstop apples eaten and fantasy worlds and snuggling in the evenings. you are going to bed early and waking up before dawn.
grant// you are imagination. nonstop pretending in rapid succession, you are conversation with yourself about whatever you are pretending, you are a mischievous twinkle, and and huge messes, you are following you older siblings into the next big adventure, you are cautiously wanting to be brave
Clara// you are almost one. you have long eye lashes, dainty features, big front teeth and a spunky wild spirit. you wake up in the morning ready to go and talking nonstop baby words already. you are nonstop, and the being the baby of the family get oh so very much love
amelia// you are in your element now that the weather has warmed up. outside, wild and free. of course you don’t want to wear your shoes, and you want to be up in the highest tree, or exploring the entire river
chase// one of your highlights of the week was when we walked our land and you played in the river, losing both your boots to the “quick sand… your detailed account of how they came off was in classic Chase form
grant// I asked you this week what you wanted to be when you grew up. You answered “a rhino….actually, a cheetah….actually a daddy cheetah….actually, what dumps?” I said, a dump truck… “actually a dump truck”
clara// you got your first taste of walking around outside this week, and you are in love. you would be outside all the time, walking around (well, I must say!) and getting completely muddy, dirty and wet and loving every minute of it!
amelia// you have such a tender heart. It was apparent this week when you watched Big Hero Six and cried….more like sobbed…when one of the main characters was left behind. We also got to see a glimpse of your sales-girl-skills as you sold girl scout cookies this week! You are definitely a better sales person than mama! I am so proud of you and how grown up you are becoming!
chase// you are such a snuggler! Every night before bed you ask to snuggle with me, which is so great! This weekend you wanted me to make a sleeping bag for Chippy chip out of one of my old socks….and you spent much of sunday making peppermint “muffins” with Amelia….with no help or guidance from mama–and they actually turned out pretty well!
grant// your newest favorite thing is to look at pictures on my phone. Your favorites are walruses, seals, and baby cats. You could be content doing that for hours on end, if I let you. When your older brother and sister are home on the weekend, or in the evenings you want to be doing every thing with them….but when it is just mama and you and clara, you like to be entertained by mama
clara// you, my dear, make me nervous. All your brothers and sisters have tons of energy, and are on the go… but none of them compares to you (at your age). you are the wiggliest little worm of them all. You don’t like to sit still, not even for a minute. You are go-go-go, nonstop. And you are already getting into things all of the time as well. You are a little rascal. And you are running around the house all the time! You are also very much a mama’s girl. At home you are independent, but as soon as I need to leave you with someone else, you cry for me nonstop….
